Ok...I'm confused...on Youtube it shows Kindle Fire HD with a mini data port . When I went to a Best Buy, there's did not....what's up? I wan to be able to comnnect my Kindle...if I buy one...to a the HDMI input om my TV. Any info on this?

The only port on the Kindle 6" is a micro-USB port which can be used for charging the Kindle battery and also it can connect to a desktop or laptop computer through the standard USB on the other end of the usual cable. If you want to connect by HDMI, you should check any one of many gadget shops (like computerguys.com) and order a connector cable. That should have a microUSB male connector on one end and a standard HDMI male connector on the other.

The Kindle Fire does NOT have an HDMI mini port of any kind. I think there are some apps that can wireless send items, but not totally sure as I have never done this with mine.

The Kindle Fire HD doesn't support HDMI out. However it will display wirelessly to a device that has the capability.

The one that I got for my son does not have a mini data port only a port for the power cord.

No data ports on the two we bought. It has a headphone port and a plug for the charger.

The only port is for the charger, which also turns into a USB plug like the iPhone chargers. Not sure if that helps, but it sounds like you may need an adapter of some kind.

You have to get the adapter that will connect the HDMI cable to the micro port. Amazon has them under accessories.

No HDMI port. (MS Surface 2, which I love, has one.)
You might be able to use Fire TV (or Google Chromecast?) to do what you want.
