• No you do not have to have Amazon. Using the app store, one can download puzzles, games and different apps. If you want to download books, then you will have to pay Amazon for this.

• When you first turn on the tablet it will prompt you to enter your Amazon account information. If you do not have one, it will walk you through setting one up. It is a free account. You do not have to be a Prime member for the tablet to work. Have a great day!
