If you don't intend to use the tablet as a phone, it should work just fine. The short answer, yes. Your Amazon Tablet will totally work without a SIM card. In fact, you can do almost everything you can do with it right now, without paying a carrier anything or using a SIM card. You will need to setup your connection to your router in order to get to the Internet. Your ISP (Internet Service Provider will provide you the password and server name. That is all you need.
