Hi Littlet76, The Stylus is "always on" once the battery is inserted. If you are waiting to save battery you can take it out of the stylus if you wish when not using. The stylus also has a sleep mode button that you can press to save battery life. This is detailed in the set up cards in the box. Inside the stylus box the tip pusher may help get the battery out of your stylus! Hope that helps!
