I'm not sure what you mean by "add on" but you will need an HDMI cable to connect it to your TV, an amazon account (can register for free if you don't have one), and internet connection
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You need to start by downloading a build like Wookie. It is free and very well maintained. It has social media updates on FB, twitter and Google+. They also push their own auto updates to the build regularly. There are paid builds that are available and they do have a few advantages which you really can only see by running them side by side. Just don't pay 100.00 for one because the $25.00 one can be just as good. I recommend BeausBuild FB page Triple B General Support. I have one box running Wookie and one running BeausBuild. I honestly find them pretty equal when it comes to features, functionality and ease of channel accessibility. There are plenty of add ons already built into the builds. From inside the build you can download any additional add on you may want to use. So start with downloading KODI then install the build or have it installed then customize it to your liking. As far as specific channels, you can look it up by network or you can look up the movie,tv show or program you want to watch. These are usually available on multiple add ons. You can search again in many ways ...genre,title,actor,newlyreleased etc. It's much like when we learned to first become cable users from old box set tv watchers but now we are learning a new way of viewing tv. At first it was like oh wow but now I can say we have very much enjoyed our fire tv .

Without having checked specific provider rights, examples might include Sling TV, Hulu, PlayStation Vue, etc. OWN may even allow customers to subscribe directly through them. After having compiled a list of appropriate providers, verify which have apps available on Amazon Fire TV. The examples I gave above all do (excluding OWN, which I have not verified). After selecting a provider that indeed carries the OWN channel and has an app available for Amazon Fire TV, you would then need to begin a subscription (most offer free trials). With your subscription information, proceed to Amazon Fire TV to download the appropriate app and login. Now sit back and enjoy your favorite shows!
