• It is a streaming device. You need internet for it to work at all. Same as you do with Netflix.

• Yes, the cube like a smart TV needs an internet connection. Netflix is a streaming service and does not broadcast over the air, you either need a roku, fireTV apple TV or some other box to get netflix, hulu, amazon prime or any other streaming service. you can get it on a computer also but, again you need an internet connection.
