I’m not exactly sure what you’re asking. There are cable-like streaming services, which you could use with this, some of which include dvr functions. They’re really expensive though, like if I’m remembering correctly, AT&T’s cheapest price is $65/month now. If you’re looking to actually record tv, you’d want either a Tivo, or get amazon’s firetv recast in addition to this, which turns it into a dvr. Otherwise, of course there’s lots of films available on various streaming services, some free and ad supported, some not, but there’s no “recoding” with them.

Crackle, etc. Live tv , dvr apps just due diligent research before just getting Netflix, Hulu, or Disney+. If it is online, it is free somewhere and LEGAL!!!
