IMHO it would more depend on where the cable is coming from. If your using dial up or the latest giga network. Why would you limit it if it is the latter

There is no Ethernet cable that is recommended for the Fire TV Cube--Any should work just fine. It is also not required to connect the Fire TV Cube to your internet via an Ethernet cable.
