Fire stick won't work Just bought new Sony Bravia 48 plugged fire stick hdmi male into female hdmi port. No response
When trying to use the stick. Any advice.

We had a similar issue on a TV with the Fire Stick and a soundbar. I had to go into the TV Setup menu and start enabling inputs and devices to work. Can't remember what ones but there weren't to many options. Try looking in there.

Due to some reason it requires the exact usb charger and the exact usb cable that came with the fire stick. Doesn't work with another usb cable.

Don't want to sound condescending at all, but have you set your Sony to let it know what type of input you are using? I mean, my set has to know I am using the "side hdmi" or "hdmi 1" etc. And then it is not plug and play action - you will have to press the button on the remote to turn it on and see the logo. I know that sounds a little stupid but the simple things first, right? One would normally think the Home and Menu buttons don't go into use until after the unit signs on. Not so here. If that is not it then make use of that support/contact info. It's probably something you can be walked through.

I restarted my sony and then it recognized the Firestick.

Sony is analysis about using third party products so it might be encrypted not to recognize your Fire Stick.

Make sure it is hooked up to the A/c adapter that it came with or it won't work. .

1. Make sure that the fire stick is connected properly( plugged in to the power and tv.
2> make sure that you are on the right Input for the TV that it is plugged into.
If it still does not work then contact amazon for further troubleshooting tips.

You have to plug in power cord to the fire stick. It uses a micro adapter charger. It comes with the fire stick in the box with it

Might be a silly response, but you will need a wifi connection in order for the fire stick to "respond". After the stick locates your wifi, you will need to input your info (password). After that, you follow the on screen directions. Should take about 5 minutes or so.

Plug the power adapter into the wall. Make sure you are plugged into the HDMI input and not an HDMI output.
