Does the stick pick up the wifi signal or does the TV need to be wifi enabled? I have an older plasma TV with HDMI ports but it does not have wifi.

The stick picks up your wifi network. The tv does not need to be wifi ready. You plug it into the tv, switch to the correct input and use the onscreen prompts to connect to your wifi network

TV does not need to be WiFi capable, as long as you location has a signal Fire Stick will work. Works even in a motor home with WiFi signal.

Your TV does not need to have WiFi you just have to have a wireless router for your internet connection and the fire stick will work.
