“Fire Stick and data use? non-techy person here....if the Fire Stick is in "Sleep" and the tv is on, is the stick still using data? Also, when I turn my TV on the Fire Stick loads the home screen automatically, does the home screen use data? Like most, I am on a bandwidth restriction, so any info is greatly appreciated!”

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.When in sleep mode, just like any laptop or mobile device, there is some data transfer. For example, the Amazon interface is constantly updating, so yes there is some data being transfer.

Even in sleep mode its still on just using less juice. It only takes a few sec to unplug. That way you know for sure that its not taking up and bandwidth.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.According to the user manual, the screen saver mode saps some data. If it's asleep, it will not use data. The home screen does use some data. If you're on a limited bandwidth connection, streaming is always a bad idea though.
