“Can I use the 1GB internal memory to save movies on the stick? Can I save a few movies to the stick to view somewhere without wifi? I can do this with my kindle, but would like to be able to plug into the tv to watch saved movies when traveling somewhere with wifi that's too slow or nonexistent.”

no memory is for aps only Sorta what I do with roku 4 and its usb. Plug in a laptop HDD and you can load 500 to 1000 full lenght movies to view with a Roku 4 now the micro SD card is only 32g and holds only aps but 32g will hold a few cartoons not movies even in low or junk defintion you may only get one movie but the resuluton would be so poor it would not be worth watching. Best to get a USB laptop HDD and case Laptop HDD get up to 4TB and thats 2000 movies. Good for a trip to Mars and back.

So yeah if you use a larger Stick, Flash drive, Storage card you can download a movie file and take it with you... but I don't believe one Gig of space will do.
