• It depends on what you want to see. There are many free apps to view content, some channels like ESPN, HBO etc need subscriptions. If you have a current cable service the channels you get on the service can be accessed with the Fire TV Stick.

• yes if you want to access stuff like Netflix, but youtube and a whole lot other apps, you don't.

• Apps like Netflix, Amazon prime, and Hulu all require monthly subscriptions.

• Yes and no.... there are free teasers out there that will allow you to watch the premier program to a season... but if you are actually trying to watch TV, you will need Amazon Prime, or something that will allow you to have full access to programming
