“Does this kindle have light in order to be able to read in the dark ?”

• I don't see why not. I have never done this but, since you can change the back lighting, it should be sufficient for reading in the dark.

• No, only the paperwhite does. Possibly the HD kindles, but not sure

• No, the basic model does not have a back light. Check into the other models for that. I may be wrong but I think the paperweight model might have it. I use a little clip on light to read in the dark.

• Yes. The light adjusts to your environment and is great for reading in the dark without disturbing anyone around you with bright light.
