You can add text notes, create bookmarks, and make highlights in your books. These annotations will sync across your other devices when you're signed into your Amazon account. However, please note that this model doesn't support handwritten notes since it doesn't come with a stylus - if you're specifically looking for handwriting capability, you might want to consider the Kindle Scribe instead.
