The device is not intended to be a general purpose computing or communications device. That being said, it has a simple web browser that can do a modest job displaying web sites, and it *may* be possible to send email if your email service offers a web-based interface. However, that function is NOT an advertised capability of the device and you should not purchase it expecting to be able to do so.
