If you have previous Kindle, all your books are stored through your Amazon account--so that way if you need to replace your kindle it is easy to access on a new one. Your Kindle Library is accessible on any Kindle.

Sometimes if you purchase an item on some credit cards, like COSTCO, it adds additional warranty time. Anyway, the books are always in your library and you can download them to a new kindle, to most any phone or tablet by using the Kindle App. You will not lose your books.
