The kindle page has ads as a screensaver, but not when you are reading the book. At least as far as my experience goes, I haven't seen ads pop up or anything.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.They’re mostly lock screen ads for books it thinks you’ll enjoy. There is also a banner ad, I believe, on the bookshelf. But when you’re in a book, you won’t see a single ad. They’re in no way intrusive. I personally paid the $20 to Amazon to remove ads, but that was just so the screen would wake up faster and I wouldn’t have to slide to unlock.
