• It's "leather like". Though it may not be 100% leather material, it feels and looks like leather. It doesn't look or feel like PU or plastic. It's really a great looking case.

• Pretty sure if it was fake they'd have to say so. It feels like leather and mine has held up like leather so far.

• Leather material is probably anything that is not "real" leather, generally made up of petroleum based plastics.

• I think it might be material backed leather. The outside of the cover smells like leather and the inside is material.
