If anything happens to your Nintendo Switch, it can go in many directions; if you have a digital copy of Animal Crossing the data still remains in the game and can be transferred through a "save data transfer" to another Nintendo Switch console. If you have a physical version of the game, the data will stay in the game card and you would need to update the version in the next console you choose to use. Hope this helps!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Animal Crossing New Horizons does not support cloud saves so if something happens to your console you would lose your save file. Also it’s important to know that you can only have 1 island or 1 save file per console. You can’t share the game with other people on the same console for this reason. It would really stink to find this out after you have kids fighting over it.
