Yes. I have done so for hours. This will charge the console battery while playing or on standby.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes you can. The Switch may still drain while you are playing, but the charger will be constantly recharging it. Meaning, if you are on a long flight, or play session, your Switch battery will still drain, while in use, especially with heavier graphic intensive games, but your battery life will be sustained for the most part. It'll drain slower, or recharge slower, however you want to look at it.
