  • QuestionI just bought this product. How's it different from the 735 which I already have? I have iPhones and Macbook Pros - will it work with those?

    Asked by MDSS2.

    • Answer I believe this Anker 336 (65W) PowerPort-III charger is the exact identical unit to the Anker 735 charger except for being $10 cheaper and different color. I suspect this Anker 336 is made for BestBuy and Walmart only as I can't find it anywhere else that carries it. Even Anker's website don't have any information about it. They both share the same specs and have the same GaN II technology chip. I have that same unit and I questioned it when got it for less than $20 a week or so ago. The build quality is very solid compared to all the other cheaper 3-ports similar 65W charger.

  • Questiondo I need a special cord to get 65w from the USB-C port? Assuming I am only using this one port?

    Asked by dp.

    • Answer Most usb-c type cables should be perfectly fine with getting 65 Watts but I would definitely look for one of the bio or high voltage cables that anker sells. I mostly said I just so you know you're getting a cable that is guaranteed to work perfectly fine with this but then at the same time they also let you know on the packaging what the cables maximum pass through is. I use some of their bio cables that can support all the way up to 120watts and they work just fine but then they do have some of their more budget friendly cables that run anywhere between 15 to $25 that also still let you get that 65 Watts.

However, for device safety and compatibility, the charger supports devices using USB-C and USB-A charging standards.
