• I recommend the smallest pot needed for what you are cooking and the precision cooker to fit. I have used with a big pot to cook a turkey. Hope that helps.

• I used a stock pot at first but it’s not the greatest since it doesn’t get the circulation that you’d get in a bigger container. I purchased both an Anova one and a generic smaller one from Amazon and they both work great. Food comes out perfect every time.

• I use it with a 26 quart (6.5 gallon) insulated plastic container. Per the manual, that is near it's maximum capability.

• Yeah that works great. There are Rubbermaid bins made for this though and they work perfectly for longer cooks (18-36 hours)
