Yes, you can run up to 50 ft. of coaxial cable before there would be a need for a preamplifier or distribution amplifier. Beyond 50 ft. of coaxial cable, we recommend amplification to help boost the signal strength that can be reduced from long cable runs. Yes, I have at least 50 ft of cable going from attic to basement and then up to first floor. I also have two splitters and a couple of connectors
