No you don’t need any sort of membership to play online welcome to pc gaming. What I know about ps4 controller compatibility is that you need a 3rd party program to manipulate it as an Xbox controller.

The game is 100% online and cannot be played without an online connection. I believe the game will work with PS4 controllers. In addition to being an online game, the game is set up to generally require you to play with other people. You can do missions by yourself, however they are generally more challenging if you do. On the plus side, there does not seem to be in game chat or communication of any type, so there are limits to how much grief other players can cause you, and if you don't like someone you're playing with you can always drop out of that grouping and relaunch to try some other random folks. Or you can always play with online friends.
