They give you two usb plugs because some laptops do not give off enough power to the second screen so you have to use two usb ports to power the screen. Mine works just fine with one.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.There are two plugs in case your machine has only USB 2.0 ports as USB 2.0 spec ports cannot supply enough power to the monitor on their own. If you have USB 3.0, you can use only the one blue plug on the PC side. If your PC only has 2.0 then you need to plug in both the cables (blue and black) on the PC end so the monitor gets enough power. Lastly, this uses a software tech called DisplayLink to transmit your picture to the monitor. On slower PC's or when using applications that use the GPU for acceleration you will notice some lag or artifacts due to this additional software overhead vs. a directly connected (hdmi) monitor.
