In most cases, I would not recommend this product for that application. There are far too many variables in terms of power consumption and compatibility with whatever type of hurricane shutters you may have. I would recommend talking to a professional installer to get options.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. For something that requires that much wattage (electric motors) you should look into one of the models that are rated much higher than this one.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Check amps required to run shutter motor. If it is less than the output of the desired UPS yes it will work.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Thank you for inquiry. Unfortunately this unit will likely not work since it only supports 255Watts worth of equipment connected to it. Also we don't recommend using our BackUPS units with a motorized load which likely what the hurricane shutters are. One potential issue is the inrush current draw for a motor can easily overload a BackUPS unit. BackUPS are ideal for computer equipment and may result in the erratic behavior when connected to a motor. To protect this type of equipment, APC recommends first determining the appropriate size UPS for the motor load in question and ensure the UPS is large enough to handle the start-up inrush current draw of the motor. Secondly, select a UPS which outputs a pure sine wave when on battery, such as a Smart-UPS.
