You would need to have it plugged into it.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Your laptop already comes with a charger so no you don’t need this unless you want to use it for surge protection
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It is not specifically a battery charger. It serves 2 main functions: 1) a power surge protector, for example in case of an electrical surge due to a lightning strike or a severe drop in voltage which can damage your equipment. 2) The battery backup provides enough time to save any work in progress and correctly shut down the equipment to keep from losing any data. It is not particularly necessary to plug a laptop charger into it other than for a surge protection that could protect the laptop charger in case of a power surge. I've not experienced any electrical problem yet to see how the protection works, but I feel much better knowing that My equipment is protected.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This is a backup AC power supply for a computer. It gives you about 10 minutes to save your work and shut down your computer. It allows your computer to keep running if there is a quick power loss.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It is a backup power supply not a battery charger. It does contain a battery which is continuously recharged from a wall out let. Whatever device you plug into it, including your laptop, will run off the charged battery inside the power supply. This enables anything you plug into it to keep running even if your electricity goes out. For a little while anyways. This will provide you with plenty of time to close out all your work on your laptop instead of losing it instantly because of a power loss. This device is also a surge protector. Anything plugged into it is protected against power surges which can and do occur from the power company, especially when power is restored after a blackout.
