I can't explain the wacky numbers, but the reality is that once there is a power outage the more things you have plugged into it the shorter the amount of time it lasts. The power draw of each item affects the timing as well. If you have one laptop plugged into it and you have a power outage, then you have at least 10 minutes to shut everything down. This unit is not intended for extended use during a power outage. It is intended to give you time to shut everything down safely to avoid data loss. It also protects against power surges. Hope this helps.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. These devices are meant only to give you enough time to shut down your computer and save any files you are working on. I can't get too technical on this, but regardless of their tames listed, if you are on the computer and the power goes out, start saving any project you are working on and shutting the computer down the normal way. Don't try to guess you have 3 min or 10 min, just save and shut down. If you want to actual time find the power drawn by your device and divide that in to the VA of the UPS and subtract 20% for safety. If you need to keep going for an hour or 2 hours, you need to look at the much larger units or perhaps a generator.
