Depends on the size of your garage door opener. This is not a big UPS.

This unit will support 255 watts of power connected to it so there is a chance the garage door opener would overload the UPS. I would check to see how much power the garage door opener draws to make sure it pulls under that. I would also make sure the garage doesn't get overly hot because that can shorten the lifespan of the batteries.
