Q: QuestionWhat is the ventilation / heating specifications on the unit during non back up power operation and in battery drawing modes. Basically how hot does it get. Is it fine if laying on carpet or does it require a steady air flow and placed up high?
Asked by ATrain.
- A:Answer Thank you for your recent inquiry. Heat dissipation data is not readily available for this unit, but as request as been made for it. We recommend approx. 3" all around the unit for heat dissipation. This device comes with mounting feet. We would suggest placing the feet on the unit in the orientation you plan to place it on the floor. This will leave a small gap to help facilitate air flow.

Q: QuestionHow long does this unit last without power?
Asked by Jboy23.
- A:Answer The amount of time that any UPS supplies power during an outage depends upon the power draw of the item(s) plugged in to the UPS. This unit, given that it has a small lightweight battery is perfect for something which only needs limited juice. I have a shower control unit which needs resetting if the power fails for a microsecond and it is a pain to reset given all that I have to do to access the controller and I am usually getting into the shower when I discover that it doesn't work. This UPS would supply the controller with power for days probably although I have not tested it for that long. But a motor or a monitor would use LOTS more juice and this small unit would not be as useful as a larger and heavier one. The bigger and heavier the UPS battery the longer it will run whatever is plugged into it.

Q: QuestionWill this protect my monogram machine from an electrical surge?
Asked by Mouse.
- A:Answer Thank you for inquiry. Yes this unit will provide surge protection. However keep in mind the unit will only support 50 watts of power connected to it. I would verify how much power your monogram machine draws to make sure the unit will support it.
