You will have to rewire or add a ground wire to the AC socket. The AC socket must have a Ground wire on the round connecter of the AC socket going to the frame of the circuit breaker box. If it does the the wires on the pronged connectors could have been reversed. Hot & Neutral. You can buy a checker at home depot or lowes and plug it into the socket and it will tell you what the problem is. Most homes over 50ys old don't have ground wires on the ac sockets. I had a electrician run ground wires for mine.
