Yes it should provide protection during surges , it watches the current and if there is to much of a ripple it will switch to battery to maintain the current till it is stable... While on battery power you should have no problem moving the bed with no issues

Please try again later.It will most definitely protect your electric motor on your adjustable bed from surges and also allow you to raise or lower the bed if you lose power. It will tell you on the screen the load and how much time you have remaining based on the electrical load. The outlets are labeled as battery/surge 6 and surge only 4. These units work great. I bought two units. These units come with a factory 3 yr warranty as well. I use one unit for my multiple computers, monitor, and printer. The second unit is for my cable modem and router along with my ip camera system. When the power goes out I don't skip a beat and it allows me time to fire up the generator and keep on going like the power was never interrupted.
