First of all you aren’t required to buy the Apple Pencil. It’s technology available with this unit should you decide to use it. I’ve had the iPad Pro with the Apple Pencil for two years & must say that it’s an amazing leap in technology for Apple. I use the Notability app to take notes every day at my work. It’s eliminated many spiral notebooks & saves on other paper. I use it to take notes when at family meetings, church events, meetings with clients, etc. There are numerous needs for an Apple Pencil. I can attach Meeting minutes or other documents via Notability & take notes right on the document. I can download free drawing apps & use my Pencil to color in. My daughter likes to do artwork. She loves the Pencil for this. The Apple Pencil is not for everyone though. It’s incredible technology!

I haven't used it for these purposes yet, and haven't had a use for it. I almost always default to using the touchscreen. It is a nice feature, not a necessity for day to day, common usage.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I find the pencil to have a very niche use case, like taking notes or drawing etc. Its an awesome piece of tech but not everyone is going to have the same appreciation of its use case.
