- Answer Yes, it’s unlocked but can be activated with a carrier of your choice and used as a phone.

- Answer If you choose the Verizon one you have to get your cellular from Verizon. If you choose unlocked like I did you can get your cellular from wherever you get your cell phone service from, Cricket, T-Mobile, At&t, Metro, etc.

- Answer The Ipad itself will work as long as you have a wifi connection. But if you are in a place with no wifi and you have no cellular service your Ipad will not be of much use. If you do have cellular you can connect almost anywhere, connect it to a hotspot, facetime, it's an amazing thing! If you don't have cellular I suggest you get the $100 cheaper version with wifi only, its still great.
