Q: QuestionWhat exactly is the cellular portion of this device?

• A:Answer Its for data. Say you go on vacation and are riding in the car. The kids or wife can still use the data on your cell plan. I would only recommend this if you have unlimited data. They can use Netflix or prime video streaming. Surf the internet or anything else requiring data. It's not a must but it is handy.
