• At the time I bought my iMAC, I was looking for the i7, also. Best Buy only stocked the i5 and I would have had to go to Apple, which wasn't convenient. For what I do as an artist, i5 is plenty, which is a delightful surprise. I'm keeping it! Hope this helps.

• Apple does not have the option for i7 but you can't do it yourself will void the warranty kabylake 7700k will work with 2017 models, also do not try to replace the harddrive without owc thermal sensor.
