• no you can have one working only you turn the setting off in the bluetooth settings then only one will be on at a time.

• You can wear left or right or both. I like to wear one until it runs out and than switch. Doing so Helps expand the charge through out the day rather than burning through it in half a day wearing both ear pieces. Plus each ear piece can be tracked on you iPhone if you lose one close by and it still has some power in it, which is nice.
