Yes the carrying case has its own charge that last a few days. So when you're on the go just pop the air buds in the case for 15-20 minutes and they'll be fully charged again. I charge the case about once a week. I hope that this helps.

You can use a USB charging port with the lightening cable. It come with the charging cable. The charging case is what charges the air pods. On your apple device it will show you the battery level of the air pods and the charging case. You use the lightening cable to charge the charging case. So ideally if you keep the case charged your air pods will always be available to use.
