The 199 pair or 2nd edition has the wireless charging capability and apparently has better Audio. You don’t have to purchase the wireless charging if you don’t want and than pay 159.00 as the same price as the 1st edition. Just different options if you have a wireless charging pad for your devices.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.It comes with a case that allows you to use a wireless charging pad. I like it because it saves wear and tear on charging cables and connectors. I've had them fail, when I least wanted it. However, I got lucky and found an Anker wireless charging pad on super sale, so it was cheaper than a cable and easy to use. If you already have the older Air Pods, you can get the case separately for about the difference in price. The quality of sound is very similar.
