Apple claims that the newer model boasts multiple internal antennas and offers 3X the performance of earlier access pointers and routers (802.11ac vs. n). I am not in a position to benchmark it speedwise, but I live in a large (4500 sq.ft) concrete block construction house with difficult WiFi coverage, and with the new Extreme I get strong signal in almost every room - even the garage.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Before you buy a new one, try this. Do an update on your router. If that doesn’t work. You may want to ask your carrier to take a look at the connection you have at home for your cable or electrical to determine whether there was a leakage or shortage. Our carrier determine there was an ingress to their lines. They separate some lines in my attic which helped with the connection. Hope this helps.
