“Does this help extend the wifi for non-apple electronics? Our home is mixed with Apple and other brands of electronics and i want to make sure it works with both. Thanks!”

It will work as a WiFi router for any WiFi device regardless of brand. If you are Looking to extend an existing WiFi network it must be an Apple airport or you cannot extend it.

I'm not sure if it will extend an already setup wireless network but non apple devices can connect to it no problem.

Yes it does...I run various Apple products on it but I also have a couple Android Tabs(from work) running on same network and I go out to my patio in back and my Airport is located more then 100 ft away and I still get great signal! Highly recommend it
