- Answer Yes! Used with (up to) 13 Apple iDevices, at least. Background syncing allow use of iMacs, MacBooks, iPads, and iPhones, without interference, or performance interruption. Used in office, and home. Also, with app you need to download and install, backs up PC laptop.

QuestionDoes this Airport/time capsule allow you to have automatic backups and use the device as an external hard drive? I want to move photos, etc to an external but don't want them staying on my mac.

- Answer Yes, it does automatic back up. To be realistic, I still think it should not be your only backup. In today's technology world, one machine can always fail and leave you with no backups. I am not good at backing up and in the past Time Machine was not all that quick, but I have a newer computer so maybe it will be faster to retrieve info. I have it backed up to my older machine right now so I haven't tested it on either. Only so many hours in the day. This is my wifi backup, so if it dies, I'll have not access to my devices. I can probably hook up my old one in an emergency or I can buy a new wifi device.

- Answer Yes, the AirPort can be set to automatically backup the HP laptop.
