  • QuestionCan it go through the wash? Can it be attached to a teddy bear?

    Asked by Comicbob.

    • Answer While AirTag is IP67 rated (meaning it should be able to survive up to 30 minutes in up to 3 feet deep water), putting it through a washing machine isn't recommended. AirTag is a great product fit for tracking a teddy bear.

  • QuestionCan I place this on my dog’s collar in case they get lost?

    Asked by Lupe.

    • Answer AirTag uses Bluetooth and ultra-wideband connectivity to determine its location, not cellular or GPS connectivity. So you'll only be able to receive a location when the AirTag is within Bluetooth range of your iPhone or someone else's iPhone. For this reason, AirTag isn't very well-suited to tracking pets.

  • Questionwhat is an apple air tag?

    Asked by tobroketoaffordaniphone420.

    • Answer A little tracking chip you connect via Bluetooth it works great for finding keys, backpack, work keys or clothes, even car like if stolen or simple like your parking spot. Very easy to set up & label & track from apple devices & not 100 percent sure about other devices but probably has an app you download bc it just connects via Bluetooth

  • QuestionIf I put apple tag in my car, the car is stolen. The thief has an iPhone, so the tag tells the thief the car is tagged so they can find it and remove??

    Asked by Anonymous.

    • Answer It will “chime” when in proximity to another iPhone, however, it is not really loud. This is how Apple is currently avoiding privacy concerns (eg tracking your cheating partner by slipping it into their jacket pocket). If you hide it good enough your thief may not be able to find it easily in the car, allowing you to track the item longer. Take note that nothing is sure-fire security and can be defeated one way or another. This is certainly an inexpensive way to track anything of value, but you are always dependent upon other people’s iPhones for this to work effectively.

  • QuestionMy interest is in finding my phone within my home when I forgot where I left it. Would this device do that for me, or would I need another device with a screen to use this? Does my iPhone need to ring to find it?

    Asked by Jerry.

    • Answer Hey jerry you’ll need another phone or watch if you have one to track and find your phone

  • QuestionSo is the tag. Detectable by all the iPhones it uses to give its location or only the person it belongs to ?

    Asked by Anonymous.

    • Answer It is detectable by any device with “Find My” turned on. But, they can’t see it’s “Tom’s keys”. It just is detectable and sends the location of your item to your device where you marked it as lost.

  • QuestionI’m thinking of adding this to my dog collar. Are they water resistant?

    Asked by Martha.

    • Answer Yeah, Air Tag is rated at IP67 (IP = ingress protection) for water resistance, meaning it can survive being submerged in 3 ft of water for 30 min. (which a pet without scuba gear cannot….).

  • QuestionCan this be used to track a stolen bike? Will it sound an alert at the stolen item when I track it?

    Asked by Bikerider.

    • Answer Yes it will give you the vicinity or area where it is located, but you will have to look around for it. I keep one in my car so if it gets stolen I can find it. I have checked my phone and see where I left it, like parking and my phone led me straight to my car.

  • QuestionCan I put this in my child’s backpack or pocket and know where they are?

    Asked by Concerned.

    • Answer Yes, as long as they are near an Apple location-enabled device. Any device the AirTag travels with to multiple locations will be notified that there is an AirTag nearby though.
