A: The button does not ping your phone. The network of iPhones and iPads is much larger than then network of phones that have the Tile app installed. Again, an AirTag or AirTag compatible device (like the Insignia Locator Tag here) will ping its location into the Apple Find My network with *every* iPhone it passes.. A Tile will only ping the Tile network *if* the phone has the Tile app installed, which most phones will not.

A: You can know it's nearby and cause it to play a sound if you are in bluetooth range. Otherwise, any nearby compatible Apple device (owned by anyone) that sees it in bluetooth range will update it's location with Apple and be shown in the Find My app.

A: This is iOS and MacOS only. It will not work on Android.
