“Can I use the charger unit to charge other battery's that did not come with the apple unit? Thx”

• Yes, I use it to recharge eneloop batteries. It only charges AA batteries, though. You should know that this charger has been discontinued some time ago and the batteries that come with it are old. Two of my batteries did not work. The charger is still good.

• I would think so as long as the other batteries were 1.2 volts each. I believe all AA rechargeable batteries are 1.2 volts.
