“I have an existing Verizon contract on my iPad. This iPad is a replacement. Why would I need a new contract?”

You never need a new contract if you pay full price for the device. I've paid full price for the last two iphones and simply added them to my Verizon service with no contracts.

You don’t need a new contract. Nevertheless you would have to buy one to get the advertised price. Already have a contract? No problem. Just extend it two years. Or pay full price. Your choice.

To take advantage of the great price with contract. This is a different Ipad so you'll need a new contract and cancall the old one.
