A:AnswerThere are wifi only models and cellular + wifi models (you do NOT have to activate any of them with a cellular carrier like Verizon, AT&T etc., you can just use them without a pay per month plan) the cellular models offer built in GPS modules which are great if you plan on using the ipad with a drone or another gps dependant app. The wifi only models do not have gps or the cellular internet option (like on your cell phone) so you can only connect to the internet with Wifi.
