• I know with AT&T, they will unlock the phone for you if you request it. There are terms and a limit on how many phones can be unlocked. For exact details, you can look it up on AT& T’s website.

• Yes. That is the reason I bought the iphone here. I will unlock it next year when I will be living in UK and pay off the balance at that time. You than use a simple sim card you can buy separate in many overseas countries. It will be unlocked by your US provider (in my case ATT&T) or Apple once paid in full.
