First and foremost. Any laptop upgrade is going to feel like going from a Ford to a Ferrari after 10 years. It depends on what you do. The Air is great for basic computing. The Pro is better for task based computing (video editing, music editing, etc.). It's really going to depend on taste and budget. But, please get rid of the Vista machine. I'll pray that this is the last one in service...

At least that is what I learned from the Apple tech at the Apple Store in Jacksonville, FL. I use word processing, surf the net, and do some editing of photos. I play some games but am not a "gamer". I purchased a Mac Air and am extremely happy I did. This is my second Mac Air. The first one lasted 6-1/2 years.

You will find that MacBooks are reliable, easy to use, quality made products. The question is "What is your budget?" The MacBook Air is currently on sale for $1349.00. This the 256 SSD model. It is more than enough for most folks, especially for a beginner user. You won't be disappointed in which ever Mac you choose.
